China’s Internet of The Future
This week, China launched a large-scale experimental network in Beijing connecting 40 leading Chinese research universities. The network infrastructure which is headquartered at Tsinghua University has been build to test potential future internet technology over the next five to 10 years. Particularly, the research initiative aims at developing a prototype ‘future internet’ with especially high bandwidth and low latency. In an article from beginning of January 2021, H3C details some of the technological capabilities of the network. Consequently, the network will most likely be able to implement and test cutting-edge technology and serve as the backbone of the ‘China Environment for Network Innovations’ (CENI) project. When ready in 2023, CENI aims at replacing Western technology in critical communication areas. More on the topic in the original article.
As the US develops its own network, the ‘Global Environment for Network Innovations’ (GENI), both nations might be able to come up with major improvements of current networking technology. However, this innovation competition between the US and China will likely need a few more years to play out.

After waiting for two months, my copy of Jordan Peterson’s ‘Beyond Order’ has finally arrived and I’m looking forward to the read. Maybe it’ll be the first Book Review, we’ll see.
Also, I found a website that scrutinizes SaaS companies and writes due-diligence like articles on them. I’m currently looking at this one and I am thinking about using the ‘template’ for an own DD in an upcoming Wednesday article.
